Linwood 5/16 - 4 Man Ticket Punched

On May 16, we launched out of Linwood at 7:30 AM, our plan was to hit the shallow waters near Channel Island, where we’d heard there was plenty of action.

Upon our arrival, we saw several other boats but experienced little to no bites in the first 15 minutes. Realizing we needed to adjust our strategy, we decided to search for fish elsewhere.

Next, we headed to a different spot with a depth of 14 feet. Again, our hopes were dashed as we faced similar results. We made one last move to a promising location in 17-18 feet of water around 9am. We quickly had a board fall back and from there on out we were reeling in fish consistently. With temperatures reaching the high 70s, bright sunshine, and a gentle southwest wind, everything aligned for a great day of fishing.

Our bait of choice was primarily nightcrawlers, which seemed to attract a good number of fish. We also tried flickers and had success with this technique, landing about six fish.

Around noon, we celebrated punching our four-man ticket! Not only did we reach our limit but I also had the thrill of reeling in a master angler 30" sheepshead along with 3 more over 25"

Tight lines and fish on!
